Framework
The Figaro Framework is a rapid development environment we created to ease the tedious parts of web development. Some of us at Figaro Interactive liked it so much, we decided to share it. The Figaro Framework is open source, but still in its infancy.
Why not use an existing framework, such as CakePHP or Symphony?
Many of the existing frameworks out there are absolutely fantastic. In fact, one could classify the Figaro Framework as a derivative work of CakePHP 1.1.x. At the time we developed the Figaro Framework we needed something more basic and closer to procedural programming than most popular frameworks. Clients and others we were working with at the time couldn’t justify jumping into a full-fledged MVC paradigm such as Cake.
Update (1/19/08): Development on the framework has stopped due to our current work load here at Figaro Interactive, but that may change in the future!
